Fully 70 percent of those responding to the survey indicated that mortgage shopping is a frustrating event that takes too much time and is too complex to fully understand. It seems that 40 percent of homebuyers obtain only one mortgage loan quote prior to choosing the mortgage for which they apply. Thus, it should not come as a surprise that this limited mortgage-shopping undertaking leads only 28 percent of survey responders to express confidence that they got the best deal. A mortgage is too vital an aspect of the home-buying experience to forego comparison shopping.
